Kick-off meeting with stakeholders was held - June to August 2023

Updated: May 13

The first field activity of this project took place from June 9 to August 7, 2023, and we discussed with the counterparts from Embrapa Instrumentation and Embrapa Digital Agriculture.

-Embrapa instrumentation... primarily a research center focused on agricultural machinery

-Embrapa Digital Agriculture... specializes in digital technology research

During the field survey, the team visited large-scale producers around Brasília, agroforestry sites in the state of Pará, and large-scale cattle fattening ranches in São Paulo, all of which are potential demonstration project sites. While we were impressed by the vastness of Brazil's farms as a major global food source, we also recognized the importance of maintaining and developing environmentally sustainable farming systems, exemplified by agroforestry. Additionally, we gained a deeper understanding of the necessity of precision and digital agriculture in achieving a balance between productivity and sustainability.

On August 2, the project and the publicly announced demonstration project were introduced at the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil (São Paulo). Approximately 80 participants attended the event in a hybrid format, both in person and online. The session featured lively discussions on advancing precision and digital agriculture in Brazil, with a particular focus on collaboration among Japanese companies operating in the country.
