Experts from Brazil and Japan are meeting in Palotina (PR) on Monday (September 29) for the 2nd Workshop on the use of agricultural machinery data for precision and digital agriculture. The event is being held at the headquarters of Sicredi Vale do Piquiri Abcd PR/SP and attracts around 120 professionals from cooperatives and students.
The workshop is an initiative promoted by JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and the Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with Embrapa, and it has support from the Ocepar System and host, Sicredi.
The meeting focuses on a project that aims to analyze how the efficient use of agricultural data can drive more efficient and sustainable production, in addition to promoting improved management and agricultural activity in business.
The program includes lectures and panels that deepen the debate on digital technologies in the field. The event was opened by Jaime Basso, president of Sicredi Vale do Piquiri Abcd PR/SP and director of Ocepar, and Shohei Kashiwagi, representative of Jica Brazil.
Also present and giving presentations were Sakae Shibusawa, professor emeritus at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology; Ricardo Inamasu, chair of Embrapa's Digital Transformation in Agriculture Portfolio Management Committee; Yasuyuki Hamada, CEO of Agro Info Design; Guilherme Panes, from Jacto; Cláudio Bazzi, director of UTFPR in Palotina; Marcelo Canteri, project coordinator at Cia-Agro, Bruna Mayer, technical analyst at Ocepar, and Danielle Nishitani. The workshop reinforces the importance of international cooperation and technology for the advancement of precision agriculture in Paraná and Brazil.
