Public call for demonstration project briefing session was held - December 2023

Updated: May 13

On December 27, 2023, a briefing session on the public call for the demonstration project was held in a hybrid format for Japanese companies, research institutions, and JICA experts.

The demonstration project, scheduled to run from April 2024 to November 2025, will focus on three key areas: crops, livestock, and agroforestry. It will be implemented through a public-private partnership between Japan and Brazil. The selected companies and research institutions will collaborate with their Brazilian counterparts during the demonstration period to co-develop precision and digital agriculture solutions. The APIs and technologies developed and tested in this project are expected to integrate with agricultural data collaboration platforms and serve as tools to foster the formation of an innovation ecosystem between Japan and Brazil.

Ultimately, we aim to expand the adoption of precision and digital agriculture by sharing the experience and knowledge gained through this project with farmers, researchers, extension workers, and students in Brazil. Additionally, we plan to organize workshops and seminars to further promote co-creation in agriculture-related fields between Japan and Brazil.
